The North American squad announced a departure from the Canadian based organization, will continue to compete with same roster.
At the end of January, the roster of North American squad Animal Planet was signed by Iceberg Esports, adding the backing of an organization to what was already a talented and fairly experienced lineup. However, it appears that this relationship has come to an end, as support player Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling announced via tweet that the team would no longer being playing under the Iceberg Esports banner. The team is not set to make any changes to its roster following this move, and will take on the name Animal Planet once again as it continues to compete in the North American region.
Under the Icerberg Esports name, the team participated in three Pro Circuit qualifiers, managed to earn a single Top 4 finish at the DreamLeague Season 9 North american Qualifier. The team was scheduled to compete at the GESC: Indonesia Minor in about two weeks, but will now do so as Animal Planet rather than Iceberg Esports. Overall, the shift away from the organization shouldn’t have a heavy impact on the team’s level of play as the group looks to continue working its way into a position of power in the North American region.
