The South American organization announced a change as it adds a new midlaner to its roster.
A little under a week after the team’s participation at the Bucharest Major, South American organization paiN Gaming has announced a change to its roster today. The team’s midlaner Gabriel “Rayuur” Pinheiro, who was not present at the team’s run at the aforementioned Major, will no longer be a part of the team’s roster moving forward. To replace Rayuur, the team has also announced the addition of Danilo “Arms” Silva to the lineup. That new lineup is set to play in the Group Stage of the WESG 2017 tournament today, though at the time of writing this the team’s matches have not yet begun.
For Rayuur, the roster change makes him a free agent within the South American region after a period of just over a month as a member of the roster. During his time with paiN Gaming, he helped the team make a spectacular regional run to being 2018, as the squad won three straigh regional qualifiers to secure spots at three Pro Circuit events in the coming months. Unfortunately, this roster move means that Rayuur will not be able to compete in the events he helped the team qualify for, but his prospects for the future are encouraging. The hierarchy in the South American region is not necessarily set in stone even at this stage in the season, and while Rayuur’s time with paiN Gamign may have been short, he was able to prove that he could play and compete with the region’s best.
For paiN Gaming itself, this move is just the latest in what has been a series of roster changes and moves throughout the season. While the core of the team has remained the same since its official announcement in November, the mid lane position is one that the squad has not been able to consistently fill over the last few months. The team’s last Pro Circuit appearance even featured the team performing with a stand-in, as Aliwi “w33” Omar played mid for the team in place of Rayuur. While not much may be known about Arms, the hope for paiN Gaming is that he is a player that it can rely on and keep on the roster long term as the team continues its quest to become the first South American team to earn a place in the Pro Circuit standings.
The roster of paiN Gaming following the replacement of Rayuur with Arms:
- William “hFn” Medeiros (Carry)
- Danilo “Arms” Silva (Mid)
- Otávio “Tavo” Gabriel (Offlane)
- Danylo “Kingrd” Nascimento (Support) (Captain)
- Heitor “Duster” Pereira (Support)
