Clutch Gamers complete new roster

The Southeast Asian organization announced the addition of two Malaysian players to fill its carry and mid positions.

About a month ago, Southeast Asian organization Clutch Gamers announced that it was parting ways with Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier after just a little over two weeks with the German carry on its roster. Now, the team has announced the replacement for Black^, as Lai “Ahjit” Jay Son has left Fire Dragoon E-sports in order to join Clutch Gamers as its new carry. The filling of its open roster spot wasn’t the only change involved with this announcement, as the team also revealed that Anas “MagE-“ Hirzallah was no longer a part of the team’s lineup and was being replaced by Chen“vtFadedJia Hao.

Ahjit joins Clutch Gamers after spending the season as a member of fellow SEA squad Fire Dragoon E-sports. As a member of the team, he helped it earned one Top 4 finish in three attempts in Pro Circuit regional qualifiers. Prior to his time with Fire Dragoon, Ahjit spent a period of a few months as a member of Fnatic, as well as a critical piece of the WarriorsGaming.Unity lineup in 2016-2017. Ahjit has significant experience within the Southeast Asian region, as well as on the international stage. That experience combined with his talent makes him a strong addition to the Clutch Gamers lineup.

As for vtFaded, not nearly as much is known about the player who is set to take over the mid lane duties for Clutch Gamers. The Malaysian player most recently played for the Chinese organization Sun Gaming, having spent about four months with the squad before leaving sometime in January of 2018. Though the team put together three Open Qualifier runs to earn spots in Pro Circuit regional qualifiers, Sun Gaming was never able to manage a performance any higher than 5th-8th in said qualifiers. The team may not have performed well, but vtFaded has built up a respectable reputations for himself in terms of his personal skill. At the time of writing this, vtFaded currently holds the position of 4th ranked player in the Southeast Asian servers. Though he is unproven on the international stage, or even on the regional stage for that matter, a player with that kind of skill level could be exactly what Clutch Gamers needs to push itself into contention in the SEA region.

The roster of Clutch Gamers following the addition of Ahjit and vtFaded:

  • Lai “Ahjit” Jay Son (Carry)
  • Chen“vtFadedJia Hao (Mid)
  • Kharis “SkyLark” Zafeiriou (Offlane)
  • Mohammad “AfrOmoush” Abu Al Eis (Support)
  • Vladimir “yol” Basov (Support) (Captain)
