The South American squad will be looking for a new player as its former support leaves the organization.
South American squad Infamous was standing in its strongest position of hte season this week, as the the team earned its first Top 4 finish on the Pro Circuit at the recent GESC: Indonesia Minor. That performance also marked the first Qualifying Points for the South American region as a whole on the Pro Circuit. However, the team’s efforts to maintain its newly found momentum have taken a bit of a hit today, as Infamous has announced that it is making a change to its roster. Support player Elvis “Scofield” De la Cruz Peña has decided to leave the organization following its success in Jakarta, leaving the team in needs a new player.
For Scofield, this decision to leave the team makes him a free agent within the South American region. The team’s announcement did not mention any specific reason for his departure, so it is unknown right now whether Scofield will be immediately looking to join a new team. Should he choose to look for a new squad, then Scofield represents a significant pick up for a squad within the region. He has significant experience both within South America and competing on the international level and now stands as one of just five South American players to hold Qualifying Points on the Pro Circuit.
The move comes at an unfortunate time for Infamous, as the team is coming off of its first Pro Circuit success of the season. The team will now have to search for a new player to add to its roster just as the team would be hoping to be as stable and consistent as possible. The Infamous organization has not announced any plans or information regarding who its replacement player will be, but it is probably safe to assume that the squad will attempt to retain its all South American lineup.
The roster of Infamous following the departure of Scofield:
- Alonso “Kotarō Hayama” León (Carry)
- Mariano “Papita” Caneda (Mid) (Captain)
- Steven “StingeR” Vargas (Offlane)
- Christian “Accel” Cruz (Support)
