The new CIS squad’s roster is beginning to take shape as it adds the former Na’Vi offlaner to the lineup.
Just a day after the announcement of Team Odium was made official, the CIS squad is already at work adding more players to complete its roster. The initial announcement of the team came with the news that Ilya “Lil” Ilyuk and Andrey “Ghostik” Kadyk were already locked into positions on the roster, but today a third member of the squad has been revealed. Former Na’Vi offlaner Victor “GeneRaL” Nigrini will be joining Team Odium this season, though not in role that most are used to seeing from the Ukrainian player. With Ghostik already set to be the team’s offlaner, GeneRaL will instead be serving as the team’s midlaner for the upcoming season. Interestingly enough, the position of midlaner was actually GeneRaL’s original position over the early years of his career, with his transition to the offlane role only coming about when he joined the Na’Vi roster back in 2016. With GeneRaL throwing his hat in with Team Odium, the squad now has even more big name talent on the roster, with 2 positions left to fill before the September 15 deadline. Based on the relatively short period between the team’s creation and this announcement, it would be safe to assume that Team Odium either already has its remaining players lined up to join, or are at least in communication or negotiations with the players that it wants to add. The coming days will see the completion of the Team Odium roster, and then we get the chance to speculate on whether this squad will be able to truly compete for a spot at the top of the hierarchy in the CIS region.
