New EU squad HAPPYGUYS registers for Kuala Lumpur Open Qualifiers

The European squad led by veteran players has formed to compete in the Open Qualifiers.

With the first Open Qualifiers of the Pro Circuit season getting underway, we are beginning to see more and more teams coming forward as players register their teams to compete. With a few days remaining before the roster registration deadline, there is a chance that some of these teams do not actually survive the qualifiers, but for the most part we can assume that these lineups are either official or mostly complete. Within the European region, we have seen one of these squads form with a couple of familiar faces in the lineup, as HAPPYGUYS has signed up for the EU Open Qualifier. The team, composed of Ilya “Illidan” Pivcaev, “Kzar” (real name unknown), Joni “Buugi” Fält,  Mohammad “AfrOmoush” Abu Al Eis, and Troels Lyngholt “syndereN” Nielsen, has not officially been announced as a squad for the Pro Circuit season.

The team has quite a bit of experience on its side, with Illidan, Buugi, AfrOmouse, and syndereN all being names that are well known across the European and CIS regions. Should the team manage to win a spot in the Closed Qualifier for the Kuala Lumpur Major, then we can likely expect to see the squad stick together. However, the first Open Qualifier will end prior to the September 15th roster registration deadline, which could mean that this squad could end up making changes before then or could disband entirely.
