The Southeast Asian organization has finished a complete overhaul of its roster, with 5 new players joining the lineup for the 2018-2019 season.
The roster changes continue within the Southeast Asian region, as the DeToNator organization took its turn on the stage and announced an entirely new roster for the Pro Circuit season. The team’s remaining players, Jonas “Nasjo” Samonte, Jayjay “yAj” Garan, Avelino “Ab1ng” Parungao, and Julius “Julz” De Leon have all been released to free agency by the organization. In their place, the team announced a new lineup comprised of Steve “Xcalibur” Ye, Benhur “Benhur” Lawis, Ralph Richard “RR” Peñano, Axel “Pablo” Källman, and Chan “WinteR” Litt Binn. Out of the teams 5 new players, 4 of them arrive from free agency, while RR was acquired by the squad from the roster of Filipino squad TaskUs Titans.
In terms of experience and talent, this new DeToNator lineup is certainly an impressive squad that stands a solid chance of competing within the Southeast Asian region. However, there will be a bit of concern for the squad at least over the first section of the season. Bringing together 5 new players is always a challenge in terms of team chemistry and cohesion, and we will have to see just how well the squad plays together early on before we have a true feel for where they fall within the regional hierarchy. Even with the litany of roster moves and changes within Southeast Asia, established leaders like TNC Predator, Mineski, and Fnatic all still look like candidates to retain their favorable positions in the region. If this new DeToNator squad wants to claim a place among the best teams in its region, than it is still likely going to have to go through 1 or more of those squads first.
The new roster of DeToNator:
Steve “Xcalibur” Ye (Carry)
Benhur “Benhur” Lawis (Mid)
Ralph Richard “RR” Peñano (Offlane)
Axel “Pablo” Källman (Support)
Chan “WinteR” Litt Binn (Support, Captain)
