The CIS squad has put their Support and Captain on the sidelines just 1 month into the Pro Circuit season
Big news coming out of the CIS region recently, as regional leader and TI8 attendee Winstrike Team announced some changes to its roster just 1 month into the new Pro Circuit season. Following a 5th-6th place run in The Kuala Lumpur Major CIS Qualifier and a 3rd-4th place finish in the DreamLeague Season 10 CIS Open Qualifier, the team finds itself in the spectator role to begin its Pro Circuit campaign as it missed out on attended the first Minor and Major of the season schedule. Those performances, combined with a last place finish in the combined Europe and CIS Qualifier for ESL One Hamburg 2018 (non-Pro Circuit event), have put Winstrike Team in a bit of tough spot in terms of its standing within the CIS region. The solution for the organization appears to be changes to its roster, as Winstrike Team announced that Support and Captain Aleksander “Nofear” Churochkin has been shifted into an inactive role on the roster.
While Nofear has not been officially removed from the roster, the team has made it clear that they will be testing out potential replacements for him in the near future. Unfortunately, it appears that most of those trials will be conducted behind the closed doors of team practices and private scrimmages, as Winstrike Team does not have many appearances lined up in terms of official matches anytime soon. As of right now, it is unclear what the future holds both for Winstrike Team and for Nofear, but the hopes are that the organization will be able to find itself a new Support player and allow Nofear to move on to another organization in the near future.
The roster of Winstrike Team following Nofear’s shift to an inactive position:
Airat “Silent” Gaziev (Carry)
Bogdan “Iceberg” Vasilenko (Mid)
Alexey “nongrata” Vasilyev (Offlane)
Andrey “ALWAYSWANNAFLY” Bondarenko (Support)
Eugeniy “Sh4dowehhh” Alekseev (Coach)
Sergey “AnahRoniX” Bykovsky (Manager)
