The Southeast Asian squad will undergo another change to its roster as it looks to replace the now departed Support.
The roster changes roll on for Southeast Asian squad Clutch Gamers this season, as it appears that the organization will once again be on the hunt for a new player to join the ranks of its lineup. After seeing 4 of its players depart during the offseason and another of its players replaced as recently as the beginning of October, it seems that Clutch Gamers will be seeing another change to its lineup in this early section of the season. Support player Giorgos “SsaSpartan” Giannakopoulos has announced that he is leaving the roster, with plans to return to Europe in the near future. Whether he will be looking to join or create a European team to compete with is currently unknown.
For Clutch Gamers, the loss of SsaSpartan comes at a time when the squad was beginning to build momentum for itself within the Southeast Asian region. Within the last month, the team had finished in 3rd-4th place in King’s Cup 2: Southeast Asia, 1st at the Gamers Premier Nation Season 3, and 4th in the Flame Cup. While none of these events are quite on the same level as Pro Circuit events or qualifiers, the team’s relatively consistent performance against teams in its home region was seen as an encouraging sign, if nothing else. With SsaSpartan now out of the lineup, the team will need to find a replacement player and potentially need to deal with a small setback in terms of its immediate performance or level of team chemistry. For now, we will have to wait and see who is brought in for the Southeast Asian team as it attempts to continue working its way up the regional hierarchy.
