The TI8 Winner has reversed its most recent roster addition just days before its appearance at The Bucharest Minor.
A bombshell has been dropped in the Dota 2 world, as European squad OG has announced that it will be making a change to its roster just a few days ahead of its Pro Circuit season debut at The Bucharest Minor. In a statement released today, the organization has announced that Carry Per Anders Olsson “Pajkatt” Lille will no longer be a part of the team’s lineup moving forward. The announcement comes a little over a month after the veteran players initial addition to the team near the end of November. In its statement, the organization partially cited chemistry issues as being the cause for Pajkatt’s relatively short tenure with the organization. While Pajkatt will not be playing with the team at The Bucharest Minor, the organization made clear that it will be acknowledging his contributions to helping the squad earn its place at that event. As such, Pajkatt will be receiving a cut of the team’s winnings from The Bucharest Minor, as well as a cut of its potential earnings from The Chongqing Major is the squad managed to win the Minor and advance to that event.
With Pajkatt out of the lineup, the focus for OG now shifts to a question of what its lineup will look like when it takes the stage at The Bucharest Minor next week. In terms of an immediate solution to its roster vacancy, it appears that the organization already has its answer in mind. In its statement regarding Pajkatt’s removal from the roster, the organization also announced that it would be revealing its substitute for Pajkatt tomorrow (January 4). While this substitute will likely be with the team for its current event commitments and the upcoming Minor, it appears that this mystery player is not locked in as an official replacement on the OG roster. The team’s statement revealed that the organization will be holding try-outs for its Carry position in the near future, which would imply that a long-term answer to its roster vacancy has yet to be decided upon.
OG will be in action on January 4 in the WePlay! Dota 2 Winter Madness, so the team’s announcement of its substitute will likely coincide with that series to be played against Vega Squadron. After the conclusion of this event, OG’s next appearance will be at The Bucharest Minor beginning on the 9th of January.
