The European team appears to be on the verge of either disbanding or rebuilding as 3 of its players announce their departures on Twitter
We are now firmly into the 2019 section of the Pro Circuit season now, and another round of roster news appears to be on its way in the Dota 2 world. While the ongoing stand-in situation with OG is likely to hold the attention of the majority of Dota 2 fans, it seems that there is another European squad making changes to its lineup. HAPPY GUYS, the squad led by regional veteran and community personality Troels Lyngholt “syndereN” Nielsen, looks to be nearing a disband or a significant overhaul of its lineup. Carry Ilya “Illidan” Pivcaev, Offlaner Joni “Buugi” Fält, and Support Mohammad “AfrOmoush” Abu Al Eis have all announced via Twitter that they are looking for a new team. Since HAPPY GUYS does not have any sort of official manger, spokesperson, or social media account of its own, this series of tweets from its individual players seems about as close to an official announcement as we will get.
With 3 of its players now apparently leaving the roster, HAPPY GUYS is left with just 2 active players in its lineup. These roster departures come at an interesting time for the team, as HAPPY GUYS had recently earned its best finish of the season with a 2nd place run at the MegaFon Champions League Season 2 in December. Whether the team chooses to rebuild with new roster additions or disband remains to be seen, though the question will almost certainly be answered before the next round of Pro Circuit qualifiers in February.
