Royal Never Give Up officially registers Flyby as part of roster

2 months after being called up from the organization’s youth team, Flyby has been officially registered as a member of RNG ahead of the team’s appearance at the Minor

Royal Never Give Up has officially earned itself a place at the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor, and ahead of the team’s appearance at that event in March, it is doing a bit of housekeeping with regards to its roster. For nearly 2 months now, Royal Never Give Up has been playing with a roster that includes 2 players not registered to its official lineup. The duo of Su “Flyby” Lei and “Mad” have been playing for RNG at the Offlane and Support positions, respectively, since late December, but were never registered as members of the team by the organization. Today, Royal Never Give Up has changed that, with Flyby officially be registered as a member of the team, replacing Sun “Srf” Runfa whose move to RNG’s development squad now appears to be permanent.

Of course, this move from Royal Never Give Up answers one question, but leaves another still unresolved. The change in the team’s registered roster has now officially confirmed Flyby as Srf’s replacement, but the organization did not address its other long-term stand-in Mad. Mad came over onto the RNG lineup in late December just as Flyby did, taking the place of Xue “September” Zhichuan who was moved to the organization’s development squad alongside Srf. As of the team’s recent change to its registered roster, Mad has not been added to said roster, which means that RNG will either be calling September back up to its main squad, or will be incurring a penalty to its Pro Circuit Point earnings in Kiev. The situation is certainly an interesting one for Royal Never Give Up, but for the time being it seems likely that the squad will be more occupied with celebrating its return to the Pro Circuit stage than clarifying its current roster situation. However, we should almost certainly expect the organization to finalize its roster in the time between now and the start of the Minor in March.

The updated registered roster of Royal Never Give Up:

Du “Monet” Peng (Carry)
Gao “Setsu” Zhenxiong (Mid)
Su “Flyby” Lei (Offlane)
Tue “ah fu” Soon Chuan (Support)
Xue “September” Zhichuan (Support)
Tong “Mikasa” Junjie (Coach)
