The South American squad gets a bit of North American talent added to the mix as the regional veteran joins the lineup just a week before the start of the Major.
Peruvian squad Infamous has made some waves today, as the team announced the addition of United States player Mason “mason” Venne to its lineup. The move comes just 1 week before the team is set to take the stage in Stockholm for the DreamLeague Season 11 Major, and represents a rather significant change for the formerly all-South American squad. WIth mason being added to the roster, Infamous has confirmed that Sebastian Cerralta “Robo-Z” Velarde will no longer be a part of the Infamous lineup. The Peruvian player is reportedly having issues with medical treatments that are expected to keep him away from the game for an extended period of time, necessitating this move on the part of the organization as he will be unable to compete with the team for the foreseeable future.
With this roster change, Infamous is ostensibly set to lose some of its Pro Circuit Points prior to its run at the upcoming Major. Should the standard roster change penalty be enforced, then Infamous would see its total drop from 44.8 points to 35.84 points. Due to the medical issues of Robo-Z though, there is a possibility that this penalty could be waived by Valve, though as of right now there is no indication that that has occurred. For the time being, the focus for Infamous will be integrating its newest member into the lineup as quickly as possible in preparation for the team’s first Major appearance on the 2018-2019 season in Stockholm.
