Febby, pieliedie to leave Mineski roster

The Southeast Asian squad has announced changes to its lineup just days after its elimination from the DreamLeague Season 11 Major

When the roster shuffle period hits in the Dota 2 world, it proves itself to be rather impatient, as Southeast Asian squad Mineski has announced changes to its roster today around 72 hours after the team’s officially elimination from the ongoing DreamLeague Season 11 Major. Of course, with the regional qualifiers for the next Pro Circuit Major coming up in just 1 week, the organization likely felt that it had previous little time to lose in terms of putting together its updated roster. On that note, Mineski announced that Support players Kim “Febby” Yong-min and Johan “pieliedie” Åström (who also served as the team’s captain) will no longer be a part of the team’s roster moving forward. As of right now, the organization has not revealed who will be replacing the departed players, but it seems safe to say that a further announcement will be forthcoming before the start of the MDL Disneyland Paris Major Southeast Asia Qualifier.

Febby joined Mineski prior to the start of the 2018-2019 Pro Circuit season as part of the team’s offseason roster changes, while pieliedie came aboard 2 months later in November after parting ways with Fnatic in the offseason. With the 2 players in the lineup, Mineski earned 5 Top 4 finishes in regional qualifiers and tournaments, including a 1st place finish at the DreamHack Mumbai Invitational 2018 in December. On the international front, the duo helped secure 3 LAN appearances for Mineski that included a 1st place run at the AMD Dota 2 Pro Series 2018 and a 5th-6th place finish at ESL One Katowice 2019. The duo now enter free agency, and considering the fact that both players have experience playing across multiple regions, there should hopefully be ample opportunities for them moving forward.

The roster of Mineski following the departure of Febby and pieliedie:

Lai “Ahjit” Jay Son (Carry)
Kam “Moon” Boon Seng (Mid)
Damien “kpii” Chok (Offlane)
Yap Chee “Kenchi” Loong (Coach & Vice President)
Zak “DashOCE” Holman (Manager)
