After a string of disappointing performances on the international level, the North American squad is making some changes to its lineup
In news that most people in the Dota 2 world had already known about, Forward Gaming officially revealed its roster changes today, with the squad set to sport a decidedly different look in the coming days. The team announced that Offlaner Saahil “UNiVeRsE” Arora would be leaving the team, while Support and team captain Avery “SVG” Silverman will be retiring from professional play altogether. Additionally, the organization revealed that Carry/Mid Roman “Resolut1on” Fominok would be shifting to an inactive role with the organization and would be inactive at least through the next Major. To replace those departing and inactive players, the team announced the addition of one official player in Midlaner Quinn “CC&C” Callahan, as well as a pair of trial players in Offlaner Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu and Support Kartik “Kitrak” Rathi.
Forward Gaming’s performance outside of its home region had been incredibly disappointing to this point in the season, and while a near complete rebuild of the roster is a daunting and potentially dangerous remedy, it appears that the organization is willing to take that risk in the pursuit of success. The team and its new roster will be in action just a few days from now, as Forward Gaming compete in the MDL Disneyland Paris Major North America Closed Qualifier for the chance to make a return to the Pro Circuit stage.
The new roster of Forward Gaming:
Yawar “YawaR” Hassan (Carry)
Quinn “CC&C” Callahan (Mid)
Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu (Offlane) (Trial player)
Arif “MSS” Anwar (Support)
Kartik “Kitrak” Rathi (Support) (Trial player)
Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling (Coach)
Jack “KBBQ” Chen (Manager)
