The North American squad welcomes a veteran presence to the roster as pieliedie takes over as captain
Just a couple of days following the conclusion of its 5th-6th place run at the OGA Dota PIT Minor 2019, Forward Gaming has announced that it is once again making changes to its roster. The North American squad will be parting ways with Support Kartik “Kitrak” Rathi, with veteran player Johan “pieliedie” Åström set to replace him and take up the captaincy for the team as well. The roster shift incurs a penalty to the team’s Pro Circuit Point total, with the team losing 20% of its total and dropping down to 154.88 points.
Kitrak’s time with the organization ended up being relatively short, as the Support was only a member of Forward Gaming for a period of around 1 month. During that time, he helped the squad earn 4 Top 4 finishes within the North American region, including a trio of 1st place finishes in the OGA Dota PIT Minor 2019 North America Qualifier, the Qi Invitational Americas, and the ESL One Birmingham 2019 North America Qualifier. As for the man replacing Kitraks, pieliedie comes to the squad with one of the longest resumes in the Dota 2 world. After coming over from DotA to Dota 2 in 2012, pieliedie has seen success at the professional level across Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia over the course of his career. He has attended 4 TIs, 9 Majors, and 7 Minors, and even holds a Major Championship title from his time with Team Secret between 2015 ans 2017. The veteran Support is certainly no stranger to playing at the highest level of professional Dota, and Forward Gaming will be hoping that his addition to the roster will help push the squad back into a prominent position both within the North American region and on the Pro Circuit.
The roster of Forward Gaming following the addition of pieliedie:
Yawar “YawaR” Hassan (Carry)
Quinn “CCnC” Callahan (Mid)
Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu (Offlane)
Arif “MSS” Anwar (Support)
Johan “pieliedie” Åström (Support, Captain)

Jack “KBBQ” Chen (Manager)
