The North American organization is wiping the slate clean as it releases all of its players to free agency
After rumors emerged that Offlaner Otávio “Tavo” Gabriel was set to move on from the roster of Complexity Gaming, the organization itself took steps to clarify its situation, releasing an official statement today. Not only did that statement confirm the departure of Tavo from the team’s lineup, it also announced the removal of every other member of the team’s roster, as the organization released all of its players to free agency. Along with Tavo, the quartet of Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen, Linus “Limmp” Blomdin, Zakari “Zfreek” Freedman, and Adam Erwann Shah “343” a.k.a “Adam” bin Akhtar Hussein are now all free agents following their departure from Complexity Gaming. As of right now, the future for the Complexity Gaming organization is not fully clear, as the team’s announcement stated that it will be “evaluating our options for the next DPC season”.
The move from Complexity Gaming comes in the wake of a particularly noteworthy tweet from the Founder and CEO of the organization, in which he lamented his squad’s recent results and put out a recruitment call for what he referred to as a “Tier 1 player”. At the time, this tweet was believed to be solely in reference to the performance of Complexity Gaming’s CS:GO (Counter Strike: Global Offensive) roster, which had just completed a slightly underwhelming 1-3 performance in the initial stage of the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019. As it turns out, Complexity Gaming’s CEO was frustrated with perceived poor results from multiple lineups within the organization. Complexity Gaming has been one of the longest lived North American organizations in the Dota 2 world, and at this stage we can only hope that it makes a return to the scene with a new roster for the upcoming 2019-2020 season.
