2 of the CIS region’s biggest organizations have announced some big changes to their respective rosters
A pair of CIS squads have announced changes to their rosters today, as Na’Vi and Virtus.pro made joint announcements regarding their lineups for the 2019-2020 season. On the VP side of things, the organization is parting ways with 2 members of its squad, as Offlaner Pavel “9pasha” Khvastunov and Coach Arsenij “ArsZeeqq” Usov have left the team. The latter is set to enter free agency, while the former has already found a new home in the form of fellow CIS organization Na’Vi. With Na’Vi acquiring the former VP Offlaner, the team has shifted its previous Offlaner, Evgeniy “Blizzy” Ree, into an inactive role within the organization. With Blizzy still under contract with Na’Vi, the player and organization have agreed that he will take a short vacation before consider potential transfers to other organizations in the future.
The addition of 9pasha to the Na’Vi lineup should almost certainly come as a boon to the organization, as the team adds a stable and veteran presence to its roster. The Offlaner has seen an incredible amount of action at the height of international play over the course of his 3 years with VP, and even before joining that organization, 9pasha has accrued a sizable level of regional and international experience during the earlier stages of his career with Vega Squadron and Polarity. Alongside Support and Captain Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev, Na’Vi have a pair of experienced leaders on this roster that should help the team’s younger players develop and improve upon the considerable potential that we saw both on the Pro Circuit and at TI9.
As for 9pasha’s previous squad, VP, there is obviously further change on the horizon for the CIS region’s premier squad. The organization did not announce a replacement for its departing Offlaner in its statement regarding 9pasha’s transfer, so there will ostensibly be another announcement coming in the future regarding VP’s roster for the upcoming 2019-2020 season.
