The U.S. based organization takes its first steps into the Southeast Asian Dota 2 scene with the signing of an all-Filipino lineup
A new organization has entered the Dota 2 world, as Lowkey Esports has announced the formation of its first ever Dota 2 squad to compete in the upcoming 2019-2020 Pro Circuit season. While the organization’s teams across other esports have traditionally operated out of the North and South American region, Lowkey Esports will be entered the Southeast Asian scene with its first foray into Dota 2, as the organization signed an all-Filipino lineup. The team’s roster consists of Christian-John “Skadilicious” Abasolo, Yuri “Yowe” Pacaña, Samson Solomon Enojosa “Sam_H” Hidalgo, Kryte “LuziFy” Gabriel, and Kenneth “Flysolo” Coloma. Skadilicious and Yowe are set to serve as the team’s Carry/Mid duo, with Sam_H holding down the Offlane positions while LuziFy and Flysolo will hold the team’s Support roles, with the latter also holding the position of Captain of the team.
At first glance, the squad certainly appears to have some potential, with its roster containing a mix of experience and younger talent. As of right now though, the team does look to be somewhat lacking in terms of the “star power” that many other squads comes to rely on, and it looks as though the duo of Skadolicious and Yowe are going to be called upon to perform at a high level early on for the squad. Should that Carry/Mid duo rise to the challenge, and should the team’s veteran presences help to set that duo up for success, then Lowkey Esports could have a shot at carving out a place for itself in the regional hierarchy this season.
