Team Liquid parting ways with Dota 2 roster

The European squad will continue on as a team, but has opted to cut ties with its former organization

One of the biggest names in the esports world is set to undergo some changes moving forward, as Team Liquid has announced that its Dota 2 lineup will be parting ways with the organization heading into the 2019-2020 season. The roster of Amer “Miracle-” AL-Barkawi, Aliwi “w33” Omar, Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov, Maroun “GH” Merhej, and Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi will no longer be associated with the Team Liquid organization, though the team will remain together heading into the new season. Playing under the temporary name of ex-Liquid, the squad will almost certainly be looking to either pursue a deal with a new organization, or work to form one of their own in the near future.

As for Team Liquid itself, the organization’s announcement stated its desire to remain within the Dota 2 scene following the departure of its previous roster. The team’s announcement did not supply any sort of criteria or even a specific time table for its search, so it remains to be seen if the organization will pick up a new squad before the start of the season, or what region that new squad will play in.

The roster of ex-Liquid following its departure from the Team Liquid organization:

Amer “Miracle-” AL-Barkawi (Carry)
Aliwi “w33” Omar (Mid)
Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov (Offlane)
Maroun “GH” Merhej (Support)
Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi (Support, Captain)
