Vikin.gg announce roster for 2019-2020 season

A mix of experienced, though somewhat unheralded European players have banded together as Vikin.gg looks to carve out a place for itself in the regional hierarchy

The European region has seen another squad join its ranks today, as Vikin.gg announced the formation of its new roster for the 2019-2020 season. The squad’s roster features some familiar names from the Tier 2 and 3 scenes in the European region, with the lineup featuring Carry Vladimir “Chappie” Kuzmenko, Midlaner Ivaylo “Mastermind”  Petkov, Offlaner Roy “Rajjix” al Rajji, and Supports Pittner “bOne7” Armand and Angel “Flash” Niamtu. Handling the coaching duties for the newly formed squad will be Daniel “ImmortalFaith” Moza. While the quartet of Mastermind, Rajjix, bOne7, and Flash were all free agents prior to joining the roster of Vikin.gg, Chappie had previously been signed with The Pango. With the announcement of this roster, Chappie’s departure from his prior team has been confirmed, leaving The Pango with just 2 players on its active roster with just around 2 weeks remaining before the first Pro Circuit Qualifier of the 2019-2020 season.

While the new roster of Vikin.gg certainly has some experience under its belt, this squad doesn’t look like an immediate contender within the European region just yet. Last season proved that Europe was one of the strongest and most crowded regions in the Dota 2 world, and most of the heavy hitters from that previous season remain active and intact heading into the 2019-2020 campaign. Vikin.gg’s chances of standing toe-to-toe with the likes of Team Secret, ex-Liquid, OG, and Alliance appear to be somewhat low at the moment. However, the Tier 2 scene in Europe never quite solidified over the course of the previous season, with squads like The Final Tribe, Chaos Esports Club, Hippomaniacs, and Team Singularity all vying for position within smaller regional events and Pro Circuit Qualifiers. If this new squad can get itself off to a strong start and represent itself well in those initial challenges, then perhaps Vikin.gg can build up some momentum for itself and fight its way into a favorable spot in the European hierarchy.
