Gambit Esports confirms changes to registered roster

After registering an altered roster for the upcoming Pro Circuit season, the CIS organization has officially announced its new lineup for the 2019-2020 campaign

When the Roster Registration deadline for the first Major/Minor pair of the Pro Circuit season came and went, we saw a slew of teams finalizing their rosters in the hopes of earning a direct invite to the season’s first Pro Circuit Qualifier. One of the squads to register their roster was Gambit Esports, although the team’s registered lineup featured a number of changes and new players. While the squad had made previous appearances with this roster, it was believed by many that those new players were merely stand-ins or temporary players. As it turns out, Gambit Esports will be moving forward with its updated roster as the season approaches, with the organization confirming that its registered roster will indeed be the official Gambit Esports lineup for the 2019-2020 campaign.

The team’s changes include the addition of Carry Kiyalbek “dream`” Tayirov, who had been released from Team Empire a few days ago, as well as free agent Offlaner Maxim  “Shachlo” Abramovskikh and Se7en eSports transfer Danial “XSvamp1Re” Alibaev. Also joining the team will be a new coach, as Nikolay “distilled” Prokhorenko is set to fill the vacany left by boolk, who left last month to join the VP organization. With those additions, Gambit Esports has officially moved Nikita “Daxak” Kuzmin and Vasily “Afterlife” Shiskin to substitute positions, and have made both players available for transfer to another organization. Also up for an official transfer is Support Alexander “Immersion” Hmelevskoy, who is still technically under contract with the organization despite currently being a member of the Positive Guys lineup.

With this confirmed roster change, Gambit Esports has pulled off a near complete rebuilt of its roster, with only Support and Captain Artiom “fng” Barshack remaining from the team’s TI9 Qualifier roster. The organization looks to be embracing something of a youth movement this season, with 3 of its 4 new additions (dream`, gpk, and XSvam1Re) being relatively inexperienced at the professional level, despite showing some impressive levels of talent so far in their careers. Hopefully, the potential of the team’s younger players combined with the veteran experience and leadership of players like Shachlo and fng, can help lead Gambit Esports back to a place near the top of the CIS hierarchy in the coming season.
